In Edmonton, two men, Kevin Dorcleus-Cetoute, 33, and Jean Rodnil Dubois, 32, have pleaded not guilty to human trafficking charges. This legal proceeding is part of ‘Project Endgame’, an investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) into an interprovincial sex trafficking network. 

Authorities allege the network operated for over a decade across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec, using violence and threats to force victims into daily sex acts. The investigation began in May 2023 following a 911 call regarding a violent assault. While the accused originally faced nearly 20 offences, including assault and money laundering, they are currently facing three combined charges of human trafficking. The Crown prosecution has indicated it intends to withdraw additional charges if a guilty verdict is reached.
