Geek+ has announced the domestic debut of its humanoid robot, ‘Gino’, at the International Logistics Exhibition 2026 in Tokyo. Designed for the logistics sector, Gino is intended to automate manual processes like picking and transporting goods by understanding complex human instructions and environmental context. The robot utilizes the ‘Gravity’ AI framework and ‘whole-body parallel control’ to synchronize movements, which the company claims can reduce task time by approximately 30%.

Following the unveiling, further technical details were provided, noting that the 150kg robot features dual arms with tactile sensors and utilizes the NVIDIA Jetson Thor (Blackwell) edge AI computer. Geek+ aims to begin test implementations in Japanese facilities by fiscal year 2027.

In conjunction with these advancements, GMO AIR has launched Japan’s first ‘GMO Humanoid Ambulance’, a specialized maintenance service designed to provide rapid response, on-site diagnosis, and repair for humanoid robot malfunctions to support large-scale social implementation. Designed by Yasumichi Morita, the vehicle is equipped with specialized tools, spare parts, replacement batteries, and systems for sensor calibration and remote diagnosis.

To minimize downtime, engineers from the GMO Humanoid Lab in Shibuya travel with the vehicle to perform on-site repairs. If a repair is estimated to take more than 1.5 months, the robot is transported to a dedicated lab and a replacement unit is provided to the user via a subscription model costing 70,000 Yen per month.
