Vingroup is developing the Hung Vuong International Sports Complex within the Vinhomes Global Sportia Hanoi urban area in southern Hanoi. Spanning over 400 hectares, the complex is intended to serve as a global sports, cultural, and entertainment hub.

The centerpiece is the VinFast Stadium (formerly VinFast - Trong Dong Stadium). Designed to accommodate 135,000 spectators, the facility aims to become the world’s largest stadium by capacity, surpassing India’s Narendra Modi Stadium and North Korea’s Rungrado 1st of May Stadium. The design features a golden dome inspired by ‘trong dong’ bronze drum culture and an automated retractable roof meeting FIFA standards.

Construction has accelerated significantly. As of September 2026, massive pillars nearly 80 meters high have been erected to support the dome. By late September, work was advancing through the third tier of the stands, with specialized steel modules being prepared for installation. The roof’s steel structure is expected to weigh approximately 66,000 tons. To meet ambitious deadlines, approximately 20,000 workers are operating across three shifts.

The project timeline has been moved up from August 2028 to July 2027. The concrete structure is scheduled for completion by December 2026, with the retractable roof expected to be finished by May 2027. Other planned facilities include a 40,000-seat athletics stadium, a 12,000-seat indoor arena, an aquatic center, and roughly 300 sports courts.
