The selection process for the Hungarian Media Council progressed through the parliamentary cultural committee, which reviewed candidates including television and radio professional Beatrix Siklósi and former Magyar Rádió executive chairman István Boór-Gőblyös. The committee’s review focused on formal application aspects following previous failed attempts to appoint Fidesz and KDNP candidates due to a lack of a two-thirds majority.

Ultimately, the Hungarian Parliament unanimously elected István Boór-Gőblyös, the nominee from the KDNP, to the Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH). The appointment was supported by 182 votes after receiving approval from the Cultural Committee, and Boór-Gőblyös has since taken his oath of office.
