The National Authority for Trade and Consumer Protection (NKFH) has conducted extensive safety inspections across various recreational and public sites in Hungary.

Initial inspections focused on playground equipment in public spaces, schools, nurseries, and private locations. These audits revealed that 37% of playgrounds and 35% of specific pieces of equipment examined contained regulatory violations. In response, authorities banned the use of dangerous equipment and issued fines totaling 14 million forints.

Subsequent inspections expanded the scope to summer leisure facilities, including amusement parks, aquaparks, adventure parks, and fitness parks. These audits of 470 locations identified deficiencies at 94 sites and within 442 devices. The NKFH stated that these regulatory checks, which include verifying documentation and safety markings, will continue until the autumn break to prevent accidents and enhance consumer safety.
