# Hungary food safety inspection enforcement

The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) in Hungary concluded a series of seasonal inspections, leading to the ban and removal of over 4 tons of food products. 

Authorities identified hygiene deficiencies and issues with expired shelf lives or untraceable origins among meat and ice cream producers. This resulted in the immediate ban and market withdrawal of nearly 2 tons of ice cream and frozen desserts, as well as more than 2.5 tons of meat products. 

Furthermore, inspections of 314 producers involving approximately 300 tons of fruits and vegetables uncovered labeling and traceability problems, leading to the removal of over half a ton of produce and the initiation of legal proceedings in 12 cases.
