The 2026–2027 hunting season has commenced in Turkey and Cyprus, with local authorities and associations emphasizing conservation and regulatory compliance.

In Turkey, the season for partridge, rabbit, and duck hunting has begun. While some associations are calling for environmental stewardship and adherence to hunting limits, others have criticized the digital reservation systems, such as AVBİS and Tarım Cebimde. Hunters reported significant difficulty securing quotas, leading to calls for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to improve system transparency and digital application testing.

In Cyprus, the hunting season for endemic game, including hare, partridge, and francolin, is scheduled to run from November 1 through December 27, 2026. The Cypriot Federation of Hunting and Wildlife Conservation has announced that the season will consist of 17 permitted hunting days, held every Sunday and Wednesday.

Authorities and the Federation are urging hunters to exercise responsibility, adhere to firearm safety regulations, and respect private property and agricultural crops. To support sustainable wildlife management, hunters are encouraged to use the ARTEMIS CY application to record harvests. Additionally, the Federation noted the significant economic impact on participants, stating that annual costs for licenses, ammunition, fuel, equipment, and dog care can exceed €2,500.
