Hyderabad police have conducted several large-scale enforcement drives to improve public safety and law and order. In mid-October, the department launched ‘Operation Kavach’, a midnight initiative involving approximately 3,000 personnel. This operation resulted in the detention of 725 vehicles and the custody of 48 suspects, with legal actions taken for driving violations, illegal weapon possession, and cannabis-related offenses.

Following this, the Cyberabad traffic police conducted a crackdown on driving under the influence. This weekend operation led to the apprehension of 205 motorists, including many two-wheeler riders, with some individuals recording high blood alcohol concentration levels. Authorities noted that causing death while intoxicated carries potential imprisonment of up to 10 years under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
