TÜV SÜD and Fraunhofer ILT are scheduled to present developments in hydrogen technology at the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2026 in Hamburg, Germany.

TÜV SÜD intends to showcase its expanded testing and certification capabilities, specifically highlighting a new hydrogen testing laboratory in Garching. This facility is designed to perform pressure cycles of at least 150 MPa and operate across temperatures ranging from -40°C to +180°C to assist manufacturers with material compatibility, durability, and safety through its ‘H2 Readiness’ certification.

Fraunhofer ILT will demonstrate laser technology applications intended for the hydrogen value chain, including electrolysis, fuel cells, Power-to-X, and secure storage. Through the European HyCavern project, the institute is also working on laser-based protective coatings and joining processes to enhance the resistance of steel linings against degradation caused by hydrogen.
