Following the event, Shimomura filed a missing person report in September, claiming his wife had left home after an argument. However, police recovered bones from a river in Amagasaki that showed signs of being “finely cut.” Shimomura has reportedly admitted to the charges, stating he “cut the bones and body parts separately before discarding them” in a bag.
