Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has seen significant commercial success with its Stargazer Cartenz and Stargazer Cartenz X models. During the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, these models accounted for approximately 72 percent of HMID’s total vehicle orders, marking a 23 percent increase compared to the previous year. Hyundai President Director Kenny Lee attributed this growth to a “bold price repositioning strategy” intended to increase accessibility.

Following this sales momentum, HMID has highlighted the advanced driving assistance technology integrated into the Stargazer Cartenz line. Key features include Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go, which uses radar sensors to manage speed and distance in traffic. Chief Operating Officer Fransiscus Soerjopranoto noted that these technologies are designed to enhance safety and comfort during long journeys. The vehicles also feature a 2,780 mm wheelbase and various cabin amenities such as Hyundai Bluelink-enabled climate control.

Building on this regional momentum, Hyundai has expanded the Stargazer’s presence into Malaysia. Hyundai Motor Malaysia has released the model as a CBU import from Indonesia, offering Style, Prime, and six-seater X variants with prices between RM99,800 and RM121,800. The Malaysian lineup utilizes the facelifted Stargazer Cartenz version.

In Indonesia, while HMID remains focused on the successful Stargazer Cartenz, there is ongoing speculation regarding new iterations. Although camouflaged vehicles have been spotted on public roads, Rouli Sijabat, Head of Public Relations for HMID, has not officially confirmed reports of new models.
