Johnson & Johnson has released long-term Phase 3 clinical trial data for icotrokinra (Icotyde), an oral peptide designed to treat moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis by blocking the interleukin (IL)-23 receptor.

Data from the ICONIC-TOTAL trial, presented at the 2026 EADV Congress, highlighted sustained clearance in high-impact areas. At week 112, site-specific clearance rates reached 60% for the scalp, 89% for genitals, and 63% for hands and feet.

Complementary results from the ICONIC-LEAD trial involving 684 participants showed that at least 72% maintained a PASI 90 response from week 64 through week 112. Additionally, 44% of patients achieved PASI 100, indicating complete skin clearance, while 78% reported sustained improvement in itch. The study also noted that 85% of patients who previously withdrew from the medication regained a PASI 90 response within 24 weeks of restarting treatment. Throughout both studies, no new safety signals were identified.
