IF Elfsborg is involved in two distinct competitive pursuits in Swedish football. In the Allsvenskan men's league, the team is preparing for an away match against Hammarby IF in the 28th round of the season. This fixture is critical for Hammarby's title contention and Elfsborg's attempt to secure a fourth-place finish and avoid falling behind Häcken. Goalkeeper Theo Sander, who recently secured a starting position following a 2–1 victory over Örgryte IS, has expressed confidence in the team's tactical plan to contain Hammarby's offense despite their strong momentum.

Simultaneously, the Elfsborg women's team is competing in the Elitettan. Having already secured a qualification spot for the 2027 Damallsvenskan, the team holds 55 points and is maintaining a lead in the race for direct promotion. They are preparing for an away match against Jitex BK, with coach Ismet Tursic emphasizing focus following a recent draw against Alingsås IF.
