The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has implemented several updates regarding its July 2026 academic session. Initially, the university extended the admission deadline for all Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes to August 16, 2026.

Following this, the university announced a further extension of the application deadline via the Samarth portal to August 31, 2026. Additionally, IGNOU partnered with the National Commission for Women (NCW) to launch three new micro-credential courses focused on gender equality, legal literacy, and workplace safety, including programmes on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace (POSH).
