Basketball coach Igor Kokoskov has shared critical reflections regarding his professional relationship with former head coach Jason Kidd and his experiences with player Luka Doncic.

Kokoskov, who previously coached Doncic for the Slovenian national team, described the player as a “generational talent” and a “gift from God.” However, Kokoskov expressed significant dissatisfaction with his tenure as an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2021-22 season.

While acknowledging Kidd’s legendary status as a player, Kokoskov stated he holds a poor opinion of him as both a person and a coach. He suggested that Kidd’s coaching reputation is largely a result of the talent on the rosters he has managed rather than his own abilities. Kokoskov also noted that his professional experience with Kidd was marked by personal issues and friction concerning Doncic’s presence on the team.
