İhsan Kurnaz, the Mayor of İlkadım in Samsun, has focused on community engagement and municipal management strategies.

Initially, Kurnaz conducted outreach activities involving visits to local tradespeople and engagement with youth through programs like the ‘Velhasıl’ experience-sharing event. These efforts were aimed at gathering citizen feedback to inform future municipal planning and service delivery.

Following these community interactions, the focus shifted toward administrative and fiscal priorities. Kurnaz emphasized a management approach centered on fiscal discipline, stating that the municipality aims to serve its 61 neighborhoods without resorting to debt by prioritizing savings, productivity, and long-term planning over short-term fixes.

During recent visits to the Kazım Karabekir neighborhood, Kurnaz reaffirmed this commitment to fiscal discipline. He stated that municipal resources are being utilized efficiently and transparently to serve the district’s 61 neighborhoods, maintaining a focus on long-term planning to improve resident quality of life without relying on borrowing.
