# Immigration attitudes and integration in Norway

A report from Norway’s Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDi) indicates a three-year decline in positive attitudes toward immigrants, though a majority of the population remains positive. 

The data highlights significant socioeconomic disparities, noting that the unemployment rate among immigrants is four times higher than the general population. Additionally, 47 percent of immigrant children live in households with persistent low income. 

Social challenges are also reported, with 68 percent of individuals from immigrant backgrounds stating they have experienced discrimination. IMDi Director Libe Rieber-Mohn noted that immigrant children and youth are “significantly overrepresented as victims of abuse in close relationships.”
