The Romanian National Paralympic Committee organized the inaugural Parasport Romania Games in Bucharest from September 1 to September 5, 2026. The event served as the first official celebration of National Paralympic Sport Day, established by Law no. 72/2026. The games featured over 300 athletes and approximately 500 total participants, including coaches, officials, and delegates. The ten disciplines included para table tennis, para swimming, para-athletics, para powerlifting, 3x3 wheelchair basketball, para-archery, adapted judo, wheelchair tennis, para climbing, and para canoe. Carol Eduard Novak, president of the National Paralympic Committee, stated the project aimed to change perceptions and build a significant future for Paralympic sports in the country.

Following the conclusion of the games, the CSM Lugoj club emerged as a major winner. Their seven-athlete delegation secured 31 medals, consisting of 18 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze. Standout performers included Doina-Viorica Părăian, who earned five gold medals in javelin, shot put, powerlifting, powerlifting open, and the 100m, as well as two silver medals in table tennis. Gabriel Petru Dumitru also achieved four gold medals in shot put, javelin, discus throw, and powerlifting. Other notable contributors were Mărioara Stămescu and Camelia Dijmărescu, who each secured three gold medals.
