In early October, a large-scale fire occurred in the Craica area of Baia Mare, affecting over 500 square meters of improvised housing on Păltinișului Street. Emergency responders from ISU Maramureș and SMURD crews worked to contain the blaze, which was accelerated by strong winds and combustible materials. No casualties were confirmed at the time.

Later in the month, authorities investigated a separate incident on Motorului Street involving a 59-year-old man. Following a fire in a residence, gendarmes and fire officials discovered multiple outbreaks and evidence that the individual had allegedly left gas running in an attempt to trigger an explosion in an apartment block. The suspect was immobilized and taken into custody.
