The Schenkendorfstraße playground in the St. Gertrud district of Lübeck is scheduled for a comprehensive renovation to create an inclusive recreational space for children and adolescents with and without disabilities. 

The redesign will feature barrier-free access via a continuous paved path and specialized equipment, including an inclusive swing, a barrier-free carousel, and a ground-level accessible trampoline. The project also incorporates seating and rest areas to encourage social interaction. Due to the need for weather-dependent synthetic surfacing, the playground will remain closed during construction with expected completion in spring 2027.
