The T20I series between India and the West Indies has evolved into a high-scoring contest where targets exceeding 200 runs are difficult to defend.

In the second match held in Ranchi, the West Indies secured a six-wicket victory despite India posting 249 runs. During that match, Sanju Samson scored 82 runs off 41 balls. Former player Ravichandran Ashwin criticized West Indies captain Shai Hope for using spinner Akeal Hosein during the powerplay, describing the tactical decision as ‘offering a sheep to a hungry lion’ after Samson capitalized on the overs.

By the fourth match, the series was tied at 2-2. India has faced challenges with its pace attack due to the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, whom Samson described as a ‘once-in-a-generation kind of bowler.’ While Arshdeep Singh has struggled with economy rates, he provided a key breakthrough in the fourth T20I by dismissing Rovman Powell to break a 46-run partnership.
