India is expanding its strategic and defense partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region. During the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India and Vietnam agreed to deepen their Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by accelerating defense technology sharing, expanding maritime cooperation, and advancing industrial collaboration.

Following these developments, India and Fiji held a second bilateral Joint Working Group meeting in New Delhi to enhance defense and maritime security cooperation. This agreement focuses on military training, capacity building, and cyber training. As part of this initiative, a Fijian delegation is scheduled to visit Kochi to inspect Southern Naval Command facilities to establish advanced naval and aviation training modules, while also reviewing India’s indigenous defense manufacturing capabilities.
