The three-day event focused on operational preparedness, capability development, and the transformation of military forces to address future warfare challenges through technological enablement. A central outcome of the conference was the unveiling of a new Land Warfare Doctrine by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This updated framework, the first in approximately eight years, is designed to address the changing character of modern conflict. The doctrine specifically targets emerging threats in domains such as artificial intelligence, drones, electronic warfare, cyber capabilities, and information warfare, while also addressing ‘grey zone’ operations. During the proceedings, the Defence Minister emphasized the necessity of a long-term strategic vision for the next 20 to 30 years, highlighting the importance of a self-reliant defense manufacturing ecosystem and the integration of autonomous systems and data analytics. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-22: Indian Army to unveil new Land Warfare Doctrine The Indian Army will unveil a new Land Warfare Doctrine on October 23, focusing on AI, drones, and cyber threats to address evolving modern battlefield challenges. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/indian-army-to-unveil-new-land-warfare-doctrine ### 2026-10-21: Indian Army holds biannual commanders’ conference in New Delhi The Indian Army's biannual commanders’ conference in New Delhi focuses on future warfare, technological integration, and operational preparedness, featuring the release of a new Land Warfare Doctrine. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/indian-army-holds-biannual-commanders-conference-in-new-delhi --- Cite as: Indian Army commanders’ conference and doctrine update.
