Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has undertaken a series of diplomatic engagements to strengthen bilateral relations across multiple regions.

Following a five-day visit to Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, and Ethiopia, Jaishankar focused on expanding cooperation in sectors such as trade, defense, health, and digital technology. In Ghana, the two nations signed Memorandums of Understanding regarding scientific, academic, and agricultural research. Discussions also addressed the role of the Global South and support for the African Union’s permanent membership in the G20.

During a subsequent visit to the United Arab Emirates to attend the 2nd Raisina Middle East Forum, Jaishankar met with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili. Their discussions centered on expanding cooperation in business, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people ties, including trade, tourism, and education. He also scheduled meetings with UAE officials to review the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Expanding his outreach, Jaishankar extended Republic Day greetings to Kazakhstan to reaffirm the bilateral Strategic Partnership. In New Delhi, he hosted African Heads of Mission to discuss the India-Africa partnership, emphasizing opportunities in trade, investment, connectivity, and capacity building. He noted that future partnerships should focus on “creating capabilities rather than promoting dependencies.”
