Sources: 28. Developments: 8. Retailers and e-commerce platforms in India have initiated a series of major promotional campaigns tied to the festive season. Initial offers began with companies such as Voltas and Reliance Digital announcing discounts and financing options for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. This was followed by the launch of large-scale annual sales from major e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart. The 2026 festive cycle includes the Amazon Great Indian Festival, starting October 8, and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days, starting October 9. As the sales period progresses, Amazon India has offered discounts of up to 70 percent on consumer electronics, including audio equipment, laptops, tablets, and smart wearables from brands such as Apple, Samsung, Dell, and HP. High-value smartphone deals have also been a focal point, featuring premium models like the Apple iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S26 FE 5G, alongside budget-friendly options under ₹30,000. In response to the surge in festive shopping, the Indian government has issued a cyber awareness advisory through CyberDost. Authorities warned citizens to remain vigilant against fraudulent websites that use the logos and imagery of popular brands to deceive shoppers. These counterfeit sites are reportedly designed to steal money and sensitive personal information through deceptive advertisements and fake promotional links. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-21: India festive shopping season sees major sales and fraud warnings As Amazon India's Great Indian Festival sale offers deep discounts on electronics, the government has warned shoppers to avoid fraudulent websites and deceptive ads designed to steal personal data. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/india-festive-shopping-season-sees-major-sales-and-fraud-warnings ### 2026-10-20: Smartphone options under ₹30,000 for Indian festive sales Consumers can find various smartphone options under ₹30,000 from brands like Samsung, OnePlus, and Realme during festive sales on Amazon and Flipkart. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/smartphone-options-under-30000-for-indian-festive-sales ### 2026-10-14: Croma announces Festival of Dreams sale with Apple discounts Croma's Festival of Dreams sale offers significant discounts on Apple iPhones, MacBooks, and appliances in India through October 31, 2026, featuring bank cashback and exchange bonuses. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/croma-announces-festival-of-dreams-sale-with-apple-discounts ### 2026-10-13: Amazon Great Indian Festival offers camera and 5G smartphone deals Amazon's Great Indian Festival 2026 features diverse deals on cameras, including Sony and Canon models, and 5G smartphones from brands like Samsung and Ai+ priced under Rs 20,000. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/amazon-great-indian-festival-offers-camera-and-5g-smartphone-deals ### 2026-10-10: Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 offers deals on smartphones and TVs Amazon's Great Indian Festival 2026 features major discounts on premium smartphones like iPhone 16 and various QLED and Mini-LED televisions from brands including Samsung, Xiaomi, and Hisense. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/amazon-great-indian-festival-2026-offers-deals-on-smartphones-and-tvs ### 2026-10-08: Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 launches with major electronics discounts The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 is live in India, featuring major discounts on smartphones, laptops, and TVs from brands like Apple and Samsung, supported by bank cashback and EMI offers. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/amazon-launches-great-indian-festival-2026-with-electronics-deals ### 2026-10-06: Amazon and Flipkart launch major 2026 festive sales in India Amazon and Flipkart are launching major 2026 festive sales in India, featuring deep discounts on smartphones from Apple, Samsung, and Realme, alongside expanded logistics and banking offers. 15 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/amazon-and-flipkart-offer-festive-discounts-on-smartphones-and-samsung-laptops ### 2026-09-09: Voltas and Reliance Digital announce festive offers for Ganesh Chaturthi Voltas and Reliance Digital have launched festive discounts and financing offers in India to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/voltas-and-reliance-digital-announce-festive-offers-for-ganesh-chaturthi --- Cite as: Indian festive season retail promotions and fraud warnings.
