Legal proceedings involving former government officials in India have seen varying outcomes in high court rulings.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court initially refused to quash corruption investigations against two officials. These cases involved allegations of bribery against a Tehsildar and the misuse of official position regarding industrial estate land allotments.

Subsequently, the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court acquitted Habibullah Kumar, a former official in Anantnag, in a 2009 bribery case. The court ruled that the prosecution failed to prove the demand or acceptance of illegal payments beyond a reasonable doubt. In a separate matter, the Jharkhand High Court overturned convictions against former minister Yogendra Sao related to a 2010 protest, citing a lack of evidence regarding assault or instigation.
