Following the 20th Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams secured gold medals, earning direct qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

In response to these achievements, various Indian state governments provided recognition and financial support to the athletes.
