Sources: 9. Developments: 2. Indian authorities have intensified efforts to dismantle organized cybercrime networks through both localized raids and national coordination. In late October 2026, police operations in Jamshedpur and Pratapgarh targeted significant fraud syndicates. In Jamshedpur, a raid resulted in five arrests and the seizure of electronic devices and cash following a 43 lakh rupee fraud investigation. In Pratapgarh, authorities uncovered a network spanning 19 states, leading to the arrest of 53 suspects and the identification of a money trail totaling approximately 500 crore rupees. By early November 2026, the focus shifted toward systemic cooperation. Thirteen states and 11 central agencies met in Hyderabad to improve intelligence sharing and joint operations. Officials noted that while cybercrime complaints rose by 24 percent nationally in 2024-25, some regions like Telangana saw a decline in financial losses. Proposed national reforms include a unified investigation platform, new standard operating procedures for banks to halt suspicious transactions, and the development of AI-enabled detection tools to combat an organized transnational ecosystem. ## Timeline ### 2026-11-03: Indian agencies coordinate to combat organized cybercrime Thirteen Indian states and 11 central agencies met in Hyderabad to enhance intelligence-sharing and joint operations against transnational cybercrime networks. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/indian-agencies-coordinate-to-combat-organized-cybercrime ### 2026-10-29: Indian police dismantle major cybercrime networks in Jamshedpur and Pratapgarh Police in Jamshedpur and Pratapgarh have arrested multiple suspects in major cybercrime raids, uncovering a 500 crore rupee money trail linked to 19 Indian states. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/indian-police-dismantle-major-cybercrime-networks-in-jamshedpur-and-pratapgarh --- Cite as: Indian law enforcement response to cybercrime.
