In Madhya Pradesh, Dewas police executed ‘Operation Trinetram’ to dismantle an interstate gang responsible for mobile phone thefts across 22 districts and five states. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of approximately 400 mobile phones valued at 1.5 crore rupees, alongside 6 lakh rupees in cash. Investigators believe the gang targeted crowded areas and funneled stolen devices through Indore for resale, with suspicions that some items may have been smuggled abroad. In Delhi, police resolved multiple criminal investigations involving armed robbery and organized crime. This included the arrest of six individuals linked to a daylight robbery of Rs 44 lakh, leading to the recovery of Rs 26.41 lakh and a weapon. Separate arrests were made involving habitual snatchers in South-East Delhi and an individual apprehended for stealing a foreign national’s bag containing significant amounts of US and Indian currency. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-26: Delhi Police arrest multiple suspects in various theft and robbery cases Delhi Police have arrested multiple suspects in connection with an interstate robbery, a gang-related burglary, and the theft of a foreign national's belongings. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/delhi-police-arrest-woman-for-theft-of-foreigners-bag ### 2026-10-22: Dewas police dismantle interstate mobile theft gang Dewas police arrested three members of an interstate gang, recovering 400 stolen mobile phones worth 1.5 crore rupees across five Indian states. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/dewas-police-dismantle-interstate-mobile-theft-gang --- Cite as: Indian police operations against theft and robbery.
