Indian railway services are experiencing disruptions caused by both planned infrastructure projects and weather-related damage.

In Madhya Pradesh, the construction of a third railway line in Bina is expected to impact schedules from September 20 to October 16, resulting in the cancellation of 16 trains and the diversion of 48 others.

In the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, heavy rainfall has caused a 50-metre section of track to sink near Baripada station due to soil and ballast wash-away. This subsidence, detected during the movement of a DMU train, has led to the complete suspension of services on the Baripada-Bangiriposi route, including the Bangriposi-Bhubaneswar Superfast Express. Engineers from the Kharagpur Railway Division are working to stabilize the ground and restore operations.
