After the Giants forced overtime, running back Cam Skattebo fumbled in the red zone during New York’s possession, which Washington recovered. During Washington’s subsequent final drive, a critical clock-management error prevented a game-winning field goal attempt. With 12 seconds remaining and the ball at the Giants’ 24-yard line, quarterback Jayden Daniels—who had returned to action after being ruled out earlier with a dislocated left elbow—scrambled for no gain instead of spiking the ball. Because Washington had no timeouts remaining, the clock expired before they could attempt the kick. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn expressed frustration, stating the tie “feels like a loss,” and noted that the sequencing of the play was a coaching error. Daniels took responsibility for the breakdown, stating the offense must improve its situational awareness. The Giants' Jameis Winston was noted for a strong performance, recording 326 passing yards and three touchdowns to erase a 27-13 deficit. The tie brought the Commanders' record to 1-3-1. ## Claims - The Indianapolis Colts face the Washington Commanders on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET in London, England.
