The Indianapolis Colts are undergoing a significant roster overhaul as the NFL trade deadline approaches. Following a 2-5 start to the season, the team traded Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers.

Speculation has intensified regarding other players. Running back Jonathan Taylor addressed rumors, stating he has not requested a trade and remains focused on his performance. Wide receiver Josh Downs has also been the subject of intense trade speculation as he enters the final year of his contract. Reports have raised concerns about the risk of playing Downs in upcoming games if a trade is imminent, due to the potential for injury before a transaction occurs.
