The government of Sinaloa has undertaken various initiatives to recognize and celebrate indigenous cultures. In early August, the state highlighted both cultural achievements and socioeconomic hurdles, such as the need for better infrastructure and the decline of native languages among youth. During this period, the Emotional Health and Inclusive Education Center (CRECE) hosted the ‘Raíces en el Lienzo’ art therapy workshop to promote cultural identity.

Following these efforts, the Secretariat of Welfare and Sustainable Development (SEBIDES) and the Commission for the Attention to Indigenous Peoples of Sinaloa (COPACIS) announced a large-scale celebration in Sibirijoa, El Fuerte. Scheduled for late August, the event aims to preserve traditions and honor the region's approximately 35 indigenous groups through art, dance, and gastronomy.
