Indigenous students in Brazil are increasingly integrating cultural heritage into academic and professional training. At Senac-DF, students from various ethnic groups, including the Tuxá, Pataxó, and Tikuna, have engaged in discussions regarding representation and labor market access. Additionally, the Federal University of Acre (Ufac) conducted its first academic seminar for thesis defenses within indigenous territories, such as the Puyanawa and Katukina/Kaxinawá lands, to balance campus learning with community based research.

Building on these developments, Brazil plans to establish its first Federal Indigenous University, named Uninind. Headquartered in Brasilia with regional campuses, the institution aims to combine scientific training with ancestral knowledge. The first ten academic programs, focusing on teacher training, public health, and environmental management, are scheduled to launch in the second half of 2027.
