A series of significant fire incidents have been reported in the Tainan and Taichung regions of Taiwan.

In late September, a large fire at a recycling plant in Tainan’s Yongkang District spread to a neighboring stinky tofu factory and an automotive repair shop. The blaze, fueled by flammable materials, required approximately 40 vehicles and 100 personnel to control. While no casualties occurred, the tofu factory owner reported losses exceeding 500,000 TWD. The Tainan Environmental Protection Bureau advised residents to wear masks due to smoke from burning plastics and electronic waste.

By early October, further incidents were reported. In Tainan’s Houbi District, a major fire broke out at the Xingshengguang Company factory, spreading through stored scrap rubber and iron. Simultaneously, in Taichung’s Daya District, three suspected arson fires occurred within a single hour, damaging a passenger car and paper burning bins. Police have identified a suspect in the Taichung incidents for investigation under public danger charges.
