A series of significant factory fires occurred in Malaysia during late August 2026.

On August 21, a fire destroyed a two-storey semi-permanent factory on Semaba Road in Kuching, Sarawak. The blaze damaged several nearby residential structures, with one semi-detached house sustaining approximately 75 per cent damage. While the facility was totally destroyed, no injuries or casualties were reported.

On August 29, a fire broke out at a fabric processing plant in Butterworth, Penang. The blaze caused approximately 80 per cent destruction to the factory building and heavily damaged several vehicles, including a lorry and a forklift. Unlike the Kuching incident, the owner of the facility sustained first-degree burns to his neck and hands while attempting to extinguish the flames.
