Protests and blockades have disrupted transportation infrastructure in the state of Pará, Brazil.

In early September, residents and settlers blocked the Carajás Railroad near Marabá. The mobilization involved demands for improved local access roads from the Marabá City Hall and Vale, as well as payments related to land expropriation from the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra). The blockade halted both passenger and ore trains.

Later in the month, indigenous groups from the Kayapó and Panará peoples blocked the BR-163 highway in Novo Progresso. Protesters demanded the renewal of emergency environmental mitigation measures under the Basic Environmental Plan (PBA-CI) to protect indigenous territories. Leaders expressed concern that the expiration of current measures would interrupt essential protection and conservation efforts, describing recent responses from the concessionaire, Via Brasil, as insufficient.
