Infrastructure development is progressing in Burkina Faso, Niger, and Benin through various road and sanitation projects.

In Burkina Faso, the Ministry of Construction of the Homeland has initiated paving and rainwater drainage works for the ‘Relais-cité’ in Komsilga. This 6.1 billion CFA franc project involves constructing 5.5 kilometers of dual-carriageway roads and 13 kilometers of drainage canals, with an expected completion timeline of 10 months. Additionally, authorities in Ouagadougou have inaugurated over six kilometers of new roads in the Dassasgho and Wayalghin districts. This project, costing over 6 billion CFA francs, includes road rehabilitation, the construction of two boreholes with water towers, two kilometers of solar public lighting, and the planting of 1,000 trees.

In Niger, the Minister of Equipment and Infrastructure, Colonel-Major Salissou Mahaman Salissou, has been inspecting the rehabilitation and paving of the Farié-Téra road axis in the Tillabéri region. This strategic economic route is undergoing repairs following requests made to President Abdourahamane Tiani, with approximately 43 kilometers of the stretch already treated.

In Benin, work is scheduled to begin on the 291 million dollar Sètto-Dassa-Zoumè road rehabilitation project. The 39.45-kilometer stretch on the RNIE2 will be expanded to four lanes and will feature a second bridge over the Zou River, along with a modern toll and vehicle weight control complex. The project is supported by a 200 million dollar contribution from the United States via the Millennium Challenge Corporation and 89 million dollars from the government of Benin.
