The Indian Navy frigate INS Trishul has been conducting an operational deployment in the Mediterranean Sea, engaging in various bilateral maritime exercises and port calls.

In early October, the vessel conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the Spanish Navy ship ESPS Reina Sofia near Valencia, Spain. This exercise involved coordinated maneuvering, boarding operations, and communication drills to enhance interoperability between the Indian and Spanish navies.

Following stops in Portugal and participation in the Konkan-26 exercise with the United Kingdom, the INS Trishul arrived in Civitavecchia, Italy. Before docking, the frigate performed a PASSEX with the Italian Navy ship Carlo Margottini, focusing on replenishment approaches, personnel transfers, and the exchange of best practices to strengthen the maritime partnership between India and Italy.
