The Municipality of Vicenza has launched ‘Inspiration Europe’, a three-year cultural program hosted at the Basilica Palladiana designed to explore European identity through artistic relationships.

The initiative begins with an exhibition titled ‘Italy Germany. Painting and sculpture between the 19th and 20th centuries. From Canova to Kiefer’, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The exhibition is scheduled to open on November 13 and is expected to feature over 150 works by artists such as Canova, De Chirico, Boccioni, Kandinsky, and Richter.

Following the Italian-German installment, the project will continue with exhibitions focusing on cultural relations between Italy and France, and finally Italy and Spain. Italian President Sergio Mattarella is expected to attend the official inauguration.
