The Instituto Profesional Santo Tomás (IPST) has been granted an Excellence Level accreditation by the Comisión Nacional de Acreditación (CNA-Chile), valid until September 2033. 

The certification encompasses mandatory dimensions such as teaching, strategic management, institutional resources, quality assurance, and community engagement. Additionally, the institution received accreditation for voluntary dimensions including research, creation, and innovation. 

National Rector Juan Pablo Guzmán noted that the decision recognizes the IPST as a leader in the technical professional higher education subsystem. Daniel Olivares Camus, rector of the Viña del Mar campus, stated that the inclusion of research and community engagement dimensions shows progress in preparing professionals for regional development.
