Inter Milan has experienced a period of defensive instability and squad management adjustments under manager Cristian Chivu.

In a Serie A match against AS Roma, Inter Milan played to a 2-2 draw. Despite a goal from Lautaro Martínez, the team struggled defensively, having conceded nine goals in six matches and trailing by two goals in each of its last four outings. Analysts noted a need for Chivu to address individual errors and midfield filtering.

Following the international break, the team utilized a closed-door friendly against Lumezzane to manage fitness and workload. Inter won the match 2-0 with goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and youth player Agbonifo. The match featured the official debut of Djed Spence and the return of Federico Dimarco, while Hakan Calhanoglu remained in recovery.
