In the ninth round of Serie A, Inter Milan and Lazio share the top of the league standings with 25 points each. Inter Milan returned to the top following a 2-0 victory against Venezia at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, a match decided late in the second half by two own goals from Venezia players Matias Moreno and Redouane Halhal.

In a significant upset at San Siro, Milan suffered their first league defeat of the season, falling 4-2 to Bologna. Despite two goals from Alphadjo Cisse, Bologna completed a second-half comeback led by a hat-trick from Samuel Mbangula. Other contributors to the Bologna victory included Zortea and Miranda, with the win further secured following a defensive error by Davide Bartesaghi. This loss ended AC Milan’s unbeaten streak under manager Ruben Amorim.

Napoli also secured a significant victory, moving up to sixth place after a 4-1 away win against Monza. Their performance featured goals from Rasmus Højlund, Matteo Politano, Rafael Marín, and Kevin De Bruyne. Elsewhere, Juventus dropped to eighth in the standings following a 0-2 loss to Genoa. These results have set the stage for an upcoming Milan derby between Inter and AC Milan.
