Various new art and photography exhibitions are launching in different regions.

In Maputo, Pedro Couto is set to present ‘Momentos em que a natureza se revela’ at the Fundação Fernando Leite Couto, focusing on African landscapes and wildlife. Simultaneously, Kathryn Barnard’s exhibition ‘Entre Mundos’ is opening at Galeria ARCO in Faro, exploring the relationship between landscape and the human gaze.

Recent openings in Brazil include Fabrícia Gonçalves’s ‘É Preciso Florir’ at Balneário Shopping, which features flower-inspired paintings centered on themes of renewal and transformation. In Rio de Janeiro, Edu Monteiro is inaugurating ‘Sono do Beija-Flor’ at Galeria Movimento, a collection of approximately 16 works—including sculptures, photographs, and paintings—that reflect on human experience and coloniality following an artistic residency in Martinique.

In Belo Horizonte, visual artist João Gabriel Ifadare is debuting his first solo exhibition, ‘ÌRÁNTÍ ÀWỌN ÀGBÀ: Retratos da Memória Ancestral’, at Galeria Brexa. The paintings explore black identity and collective memory, utilizing the Yoruba expression ‘Àwọn Àgbà’ to frame elders as living libraries. Meanwhile, in Casa Branca, Portugal, photographer Margarida Rodrigues is presenting ‘With the Absolute Heart of the Poem of Life’ at the Era Uma Voz association. This exhibition commemorates the centenary of poet Allen Ginsberg and focuses on the Beat Generation through photographic works inspired by figures such as Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.
