The Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) exhibition at Tokyo Big Sight serves as a platform for various international coffee producers to engage with the Japanese market.

During the mid-October event, the Chiayi County Government of Taiwan established the ‘Taste Chiayi’ pavilion to showcase eight high-quality plantations. The initiative included professional cupping sessions to promote the ‘premiumization, branding, and internationalization’ of Chiayi’s coffee industry.

Simultaneously, the Coffee Development and Education Foundation (KAPPI), with support from Bank Indonesia, utilized the exhibition for coffee diplomacy. They showcased diverse Indonesian varieties, including Aceh Gayo, Mandheling, Java, Bali, and Kalosi Toraja, through aroma and tasting sessions to educate Japanese consumers and industry players on flavor profiles.
