Various protected areas and geoparks are hosting educational activities to celebrate International Geodiversity Day.

In Spain, the Serra Gelada Natural Park scheduled a catamaran tour from the Port of Altea to observe marine geological values, alongside a guided walk in l’Alfàs del Pi to view coastal cliffs and fossil dunes. 

In Italy, the Beigua Geopark organized webinars on historical stone materials and guided excursions, including walking and bicycle tours to identify marine terraces and rock structures. Additionally, the Aspromonte UNESCO Geopark participated in a conference titled ‘Geoparks, Parks, Territories, Communities’ to discuss geodiversity as a resource for cultural and economic development.
