The international skiing community is preparing for various major competitions. The Ski Classics World Championship XVIII is scheduled for January 2027 in Switzerland’s Engadin Valley, featuring the Engadin La Diagonela and a new Zuoz – St. Moritz Sprint format. Race director Lukas Bauer noted the new sprint format will “fundamentally alter team tactics” due to the scoring system.

Separately, the Alpine Ski World Cup is marking its 60th anniversary. The FIS has finalized the 2026/27 racing calendar, which includes venues in Colorado, France, Italy, and Cortina d’Ampezzo. To celebrate the milestone, officials plan to increase the visibility of the Crystal Globes through enhanced broadcast graphics and sponsor-focused presentations.
