The European Union implemented a major sanctions package targeting the Russian military-industrial complex, specifically focusing on missile production and 1,646 individuals and entities. Concurrently, tensions rose regarding a reported agreement between the United States and Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the move, describing it as a “birthday gift for Putin” and a “smoke screen” intended to mask ongoing negotiations in Miami.
