In October 2026, Santa Fe is hosting several major international and national sporting events involving thousands of athletes. These competitions include the XII South American U23 Athletics Championship at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento Deportivo (CARD), which features 450 athletes from 13 different countries.

Additionally, the city is hosting the CONMEBOL Liga Evolución Futsal – Zona Sur at the Estadio Multipropósito ‘Invencible Santa Fe’. The tournament, which includes Under-20 and Senior categories, features national teams from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Following the tournament's official start on October 13, the Paraguayan national teams have made their debut. The Paraguayan U-20 squad drew 1-1 against Uruguay, while the senior team secured a 3-1 victory over the same opponent, bringing Paraguay to a total of 4 points.

This activity is part of a broader period of South American sports, which also includes the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina in Ecuador—where Liga de Quito is making its historic debut—and various other regional competitions such as the Supercopa of the Superliga Argentina de Voleibol. Other regional developments include the launch of the Iquique Beach Soccer League in Chile and the start of the 2026/27 Superliga Argentina de Voleibol season in Morón.
