Under the coordinated international operation codenamed ‘The Wanted’, Albanian authorities, working with Interpol, have secured the arrests of several fugitives in Italy and Russia.

Initial arrests in Italy involved two Albanian nationals. One individual, Muhamet Bedulla, was wanted for attempted murder, while a second individual, identified as U. B., faced charges related to narcotics production, sales, and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. 

Subsequent developments in the operation saw the apprehension of two additional high-profile suspects. Salvatore Aliu was arrested in Russia; he is identified by SPAK as a central figure in international cocaine trafficking and money laundering. Alok Mittra was arrested in Italy for his involvement in a human smuggling scheme that utilized forged documents to transit Bangladeshi citizens through Albania to the European Union. 

Albanian authorities are currently coordinating with Interpol and the respective national police forces in Italy and Russia to facilitate the extradition of the arrested individuals.
